Business Analyst
Leanpay is an 9-year-old Fintech company on a mission to enable consumers to pay in installments — anywhere, anytime, with just a few clicks. With operations in Slovenia, Romania and Hungary, we’re leading the way in digital Point-of-Sale Finance (dPOSF) and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) across Central and Southeastern Europe.
A great milestone was achieved last year when Leanpay secured €10M in Series B Funding. It will enable us to solidify our market leadership in Slovenia, scale our operations in Romania and Hungary, continue to roll out innovative services, and attract top talent to our growing team to become the digital consumer lending champion in the Central & Eastern European region.
Our Product and Development teams are based in Serbia and drive the end-to-end development of our platform across all markets. We're now strengthening our foundations in reporting and compliance to support further scale. As we grow across markets and complexity, this role ensures we stay fast, compliant, and resilient.
What we’re looking for?
We’re hiring a Business Analyst – Fintech Core Systems to join our Product team in Belgrade and help drive improvements across our financial and regulatory flows.
You’ll help shape platform features that support reporting to credit bureaus, financial institutions, and internal compliance functions. You won’t just report issues — you’ll help us define and deliver solutions that scale across markets.
It’s structured as a launchpad toward PO responsibilities within 2–3 years — with onboarding, mentorship, and product exposure to support that path. Long-term BA career growth is equally supported if that’s your preferred track.
It’s a strong fit for someone who started in support or QA, moved into analysis, and now wants a seat at the product table — with real ownership and production impact.
What you'll do:
- Improve financial and reporting flows used by regulators, partners, and internal teams
- Identify recurring issues and lead platform improvements to prevent them
- Collaborate with QA to ensure business logic is understood, testable, and verified
- Document platform behavior and process logic clearly in Jira and Confluence
- Investigate anomalies in product data and coordinate fixes with development
- Participate in product discovery and help design flows like eligibility and KYC
- Define platform improvements and follow through on their rollout
What makes you a great fit:
- Your career path includes operational experience (support, QA) and analytical roles (BA, Product Analyst)
- You’ve seen how broken processes affect customers and care about fixing them upstream
- You want to go beyond writing specs — and help shape the product itself
- You collaborate well across teams and dig deep into problem-solving
- You’re motivated by impact, ownership, and cross-market complexity
- You are proactive, curious, precise and ready to build.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, QA, or technical support role
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field is valued — but we equally welcome candidates with strong hands‑on experience and skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Familiarity with Agile and product development basics; understanding of the software delivery lifecycle is a plus
- Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated industries is preferred
- Basic–intermediate SQL reporting experience is preferred
We consider as a plus:
- Jira, and Power BI experience — or the motivation to learn quickly
- Interest in financial systems, regulatory workflows, or payment solutions
What a day might look like:
- Resolve an inconsistency reported by a financial partner
- Spot a repeat failure in a reporting process and propose a better validation step
- Lead a change that eliminates that class of error across the system
- Participate in a discovery session on a KYC feature and outline edge cases
- Collaborate with a developer to debug and fix a real-time data error
- Define a platform improvement — and follow it into production
What we offer:
- 90-Day Onboarding Plan with clear learning goals and shadow cycles
- Mentorship from experienced POs and BAs
- Flexible growth path: domain expert or PO — your development is a priority
- Private health insurance for you and your family
- 25 days of vacation
- Hybrid work setup with flexibility
- Free lunch in our offices in Belgrade and Cacak
- Friendly, collaborative product culture
- Work on impactful products across Slovenia, Romania, and Hungary
- We tailor compensation to reflect the value you bring — and keep it competitive with fintech roles across the region
