Business Development Manager

Digital Point-of-sale Finance (“dPOSF”) and Buy Now Pay Later (“BNPL”) are the hottest trends in Fintech. Currently, Leanpay is a dPOSF & BNPL market leader in Slovenia and is working hard to be at the forefront of that trend in Central and Southeastern Europe. In order to achieve that, Leanpay continued its international growth into Romania and Hungary.

LEANPAY I.F.N. S.A. (Leanpay Romania) is a non-banking financial institution (IFN), licensed by the National Bank of Romania, with our headquarter in Bucharest, Costache Negri 1-5 street, Opera Center, 4th floor.

Our team of experienced professionals from retail, banking and financial software development allows us to create solutions that bring additional value to our network of shops and their customers. Currently, our Sales team in Romania needs reinforcement - experienced and highly motivated B2B sales professional, an energetic and straight forward colleague to take on our new role as Business Development Manager and assume the responsibility of building up the Leanpay merchant partner network in Romania.

What will the Business Development Manager be doing?

  • Responsibility for developing the merchant partner network to promote Leanpay’s services;
  • Attracting and signing new merchant partners to use and promote Leanpay (presenting Leanpay solutions, added value and advantages to potential merchant partners, selling Leanpay services, concluding and processing the necessary documentation);
  • Managing the relationship with an existing portfolio of key merchant partners;
  • Developing and owning a healthy monthly B2B sales funnel;
  • Cold calling to qualify leads and converting leads into deals; actively making contacts (inbound and outbound) with existing customers and new prospects;
  • Managing the existing portfolio of merchant partners, developing the merchant partner network and promoting Leanpay’s services, maintaining the existing customer database and developing new growth opportunities with existing partners;
  • Using the company CRM to manage all activities and communications with customers and prospects;
  • Conducting research to identify new business opportunities;
  • Acting as an ambassador for Leanpay Romania at trade shows, exhibitions and local business networks;
  • Providing merchants implementation support together with the team;
  • Fulfilling the action plan to achieve monthly / quarterly / annual targets in terms of sales, relationship management, consumer acquisition and others, collaborating with the Head of Sales;
  • Actively proposing and cooperating in internal Leanpay product development and service improvement projects;
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on deliverables, merchant partner portfolio development and market development,
  • Implementing Leanpay best practices for POS activities (for example: communication, marketing, consumer journey) with merchant partners, to optimize proper and responsible use of the Leanpay consumer loans by consumers,
  • Contributing to the overall success of our company.

What will the successful candidate have?

  • Ambition and energy, driven to succeed and reach out to prospective merchants, and ability to work in a fully independent and responsible manner;
  • A hands-on attitude with proven ability to achieve goals and plans, and a motivation to be a part of a growing Leanpay Romania success story;
  • Ability to provide great customer service, ambition to excel,
  • Demonstrating the ability to identify the right business opportunities while delivering excellent customer experience, good problem-solving skills.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales and relationship management (for example specific experience from retail financial services or retail / e-commerce B2B sales, sales of POS devices and systems to mid-market retailers, or experience from financial institutions working with SMEs);
  • Good understanding of B2B Sales, CRM processes and organization (existing B2B network of retail prospects would be an advantage)
  • At least a basic understanding of personal finance, consumer loans, e-commerce, digital payments ecosystems, retail banking, credit card business, fintech;
  • Driver`s license (B) and willingness to travel across the country;
  • A university degree (preferably in economics, business or similar).
